Description

The Multifamily Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational performance and financial metrics of an assigned portfolio of properties. The position is responsible for ensuring optimum performance results are achieved through the successful implementation of comprehensive programs, initiatives, and strategies across the entire portfolio. The position also requires evaluating market/submarket data and is responsible for evaluating property performance, and developing, communicating, and executing property-level investment plans and strategies.

  • Essential Job Responsibilities

    • Oversee and provide leadership to third-party property managers and JV partners
    • Conduct regular physical inspections of communities
    • Monitor resident retention and renewal satisfaction
    • Review property performance and evaluate marketing, pricing, revenue, and financial strategies to both understand and predict trends to develop appropriate plans
    • Oversee yearly budget process
    • Review and analyze monthly financial reports
    • Participate in the preparation and communication of quarterly investor distributions
    • Collect and analyze market data
    • Review industry standards, surveys and benchmarks, and economic and demographic trends
    • Ensure compliance with business reports, budgets, and other required reports
    • Review expenditures to ensure they are within budget and properly approved
    • Identify KPIs and create a system to track and report progress
    • Create weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals with team members
    • Develop best practices, systems, and processes to drive high resident, landlord, client, and staff retention
    • Assist with onboarding multifamily properties into our portfolio
    • Participate in the acquisition, due diligence, capital improvement, and underwriting processes
  • Knowledge, Experience and Skills

    • Minimum 5 years as on-site property manager or regional manager
    • Multifamily experience required
    • Strong background in leasing plans and marketing strategies
    • Ability to set and meet goals
    • Self-starter and ability to work with little supervision
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of departments
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Good problem solver/creative thinker
    • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment
    • Build positive working relationships with employees at all levels within the organization
    • Positive attitude, proactive and resourceful
    • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint
